The Ladies Auxiliary to the Prince Georges County Volunteer Fire & Rescue Association will hold its monthly meeting at the Ritchie VFD at 1415 Ritchie Marlboro Rd, Capitol Heights, MD (Co. 37). The meeting will be hosted by the Upper Marlboro VFD (Co. 20) starting at 1830 hrs.

The Baden VFD (Co. 36) will host an Open House from 1000 hours to 1400 hours at their fire station located at 16608 Brandywine Road, Brandywine, MD 20613. Activities include: meeting members of the Underwater Rescue & Recovery Team station tours, demos, fire & rescue vehicles, fire safety publications, games for the kids and more. Refreshments will be served.

Station 55 career staffing will be reduced by two (2) personnel for fire services Saturday morning from 0730 hours until Saturday afternoon at 1500 hours. Any volunteer members who can help man the apparatus between the above times are asked to report to sta. 55 by 0730 hours.

On October 15^th and 16^th, the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation will sponsor the official 30^th annual national tribute to all firefighters who died in the line-of-duty during the previous year. Thousands will attend this Memorial Weekend in Emmitsburg, MD. The weekend features special programs for survivors and co-workers along with public ceremonies. Bunker Hill Station 55 drill night. Deputy Chief Fisher (55A) will begin drill at 1900 hours in the training room for all volunteer personnel and the topic of this drill will be one of the annual mandatory training requirements for riding volunteer members.

The Hogs & Heroes Foundation will be hosting a fundraiser at the Green Turtle Restaurant located at 3213 Solomons Island Road (MD route 2) in Edgewater, MD. This is an all day and all evening event. 10% of the entire day’s proceeds will be donated to H & H and passed on to Heroes, Inc., which aids survivors (wives and children) of firefighter and police officers who are killed in the line of duty. So bring your family and friends and enjoy good food and help support this fundraiser.
